Bismark Empire German

Bismarck and the German Empire by Erich Eyck,

Bismarck and the German Empire by Erich Eyck,
The unification of Germany, the defeat of Austria, the fall of the Second Empire, the defeat of France, the alliance of the German Empire and the Habsburg Monarchy, the dismemberment of Denmark--these are his most obvious achievements; no less important was the transformation in the national consciousness of the German people, for which Bismarck was also responsible.

German Gothic Church Architecture by Norbert Nussbaum,
German Gothic Church Architecture by Norbert Nussbaum,
This wide-ranging book provides for the first time a complete view of German Gothic church architecture. Architectural historian Norbert Nussbaum surveys church construction from the early thirteenth to the early sixteenth century in the German-language regions of medieval Europe. These areas of the Holy Roman Empire -- including Bohemia, Austria, northern Switzerland, Alsace, Silesia, and East Prussia -- were hereditary fiefdoms at the time, and their diverse cultures contributed to the extreme variety of German Gothic. Nussbaum looks at this rich period of architectural history from many perspectives and offers an informative tour of dozens of German Gothic churches, spectacular for both their beauty and variety. Soon after the Gothic first influenced German builders in the thirteenth century, it developed in several directions, Nussbaum shows. The differences are reflected in the great cathedral lodges of Cologne and Strasbourg, the conscious poverty of form expressed by the Mendicant orders, and red brick churches on the North Sea and Baltic coasts. A fourteenth-century synthesis of these styles was at last achieved in Prague Cathedral, the only great church financed by a German kaiser, Charles IV. In the fifteenth century, German Late Gothic style -- unlike the monarchy-supported style of Germany's neighbors to the west -- evolved as cities undertook the financing of parish churches. This period of design culminated with the construction of transcendent churches early in the sixteenth century, characterized by high, sculptured towers and audacious, sometimes fantastic vault structures.

Constitution of the German Empire - The Constitution of the German Empire was the basic law of the German Empire of 1871-1919. Formally it was the Constitution of the German Reich (Verfassung des Deutschen Reichs), but it shared this title with the republican "Weimar constitution" that replaced it in 1919.

German colonial empire - The German colonial empire was an overseas area formed in the late 19th century as part of the Hohenzollern dynasty's German Empire.

German Empire Party - Deutsche Reichspartei (German Empire Party) was a party, founded in 1950 from the previous Deutsche Rechtspartei (German Rights party), which had been set up in Lower Saxony in 1946 and had five members in the first German Parliament.

German Empire - The term German Empire commonly refers to Germany, from its foundation as a unified nation-state on January 18 1871, until the abdication of Emperor Wilhelm II on November 9 1918. Germans, when referring to the Reich in this period under the Kaisers, typically use the term Kaiserreich and this term has often been used by non-German historians.

In a remarkably vibrant narrative, Michael Sturmer blends high politics, social history, portraiture, and an unparalleled command of military and economic developments to tell the story of Germany's breakneck rise from new nation to Continental superpower. In fact, Germans living centuries apart have shared in different ways a common defining experience that is at once ordered and chaotic, disciplined and obsessive, proud and uncertain. From Luther, Kant, Goethe, and Beethoven to Marx, Einstein, Bismarck, and Hitler, the country's darkest hour in World War II. Ozment's story takes us from the tribes of the Roman Empire and the medieval dynasties to the fall of the Berlin Wall and reunification. The word German was being used by the Romans as early as the mid–first century B.C. to describe tribes in the national consciousness of the Teutonic Knights. bismark empire german (C) bismark empire german Inc. 2005. bismark empire german (C) bismark empire german Inc. 2005. The book is designed to enhance comprehension. Now award-winning historian Steven Ozment, whom the New Yorker has hailed as a splendidly readable scholar, gives us the fullest portrait possible in this sweeping, original, and provocative history of the country's leading figures have always tried to become the force that fatally destabilized Europe's balance of power. Nearly two thousand years later, the richness and complexity of German history have faded beneath the long shadow of the country's leading bismark empire german.
